Business problem:
When an error ticket is created, the error ticket is printed to the ticketing printer with no other options. In an automation environment, this can cause confusion for the drivers who drive off with the error ticket and do not get their actual ticket.
Proposed solution:
Allow the error ticket to have a configurable printer set up separate from the ticketing printer.
This feature is available in Apex v7.0.0.
I would also like to add that it would be nice if we could set the error ticket as "HOLD" and not "Incomplete" in the database.
If an error ticket is not generated, then the user or all POS machines (because there could be clients such as dispatchers) should be notified by a pop up message or some kind of message, so the user knows that action needs to be taken. If the error was from a load off of the dispatch schedule (loads), then the user needs to know which load was being processed and needs to be dealt with.
I would like to see this go a little farther and give me the option to not generate the 'error' ticket at all - I implemented my own work around to accomplish this, but it is not ideal.
Excellent to hear that this is planned. Related and of concern is that if the error is due to an overweight situation, the Aux1 printer (which we print inside as an 'office copy' _will print a normal looking (non error) ticket with the gross over the legal max, such as 80,100 lb. That is easy to miss (yes, I know they should be checking the weights on every ticket). That should be addressed as part of this. The Aux1 copy isn't getting subjected to normal validation, at least in the case of weights.
