Western Division asphalt plants sell buckets of Emulsion with a unit of measure of Each. Users need to be able to print the "Each" ticket from the Scale Tickets screen while there is weight on the scale. We are not sure if Apex will prevent users from printing a non-weighed product with weight on the scale. Apex will complain that maxGvw has been exceeded while printing the ticket.
I believe I understand your query now. However, there's a reason why are reading the scale while we allow editing the quantity. The product's quantity is not calculated from a scale weight, but we still don't want to allow the truck to leave overweight.
With that said, you could use Misc. Tickets for this. Or, set 'Edit Ticket Quantity Mode' to 'Clear Weight' to force Gross/Net/Tare to 0. As this is the default, and you must be set to 'Keep Weight', I would imagine this would impact other users in your company.
Hi Chris, the product is configured as No Weight Calculation.
We were experiencing the following:
1. A vehicle was on the scale.(Not the one being processed for the non-weighed product)
2. The user was processing a non-weighed product with a UOM of Each in the Scale Tickets Screen.
3. The weight of the vehicle on the scale exceeded the MaxGross of the Vehicle that was being used for the non-weighed product in the Scale Tickets Screen.
4. Apex displayed the Over MaxGross message.
Ray,
At the top right of the Products window, there is a field for 'Qty Calc Method'. If this is set to 'No Weight Calculation', the quantity field will be editable without using CTRL+Q, and weight can still be on the ticket.
Yeah we know how to work around the bug...but having the no weight scale configured as not interfaced..puts us in a non-NTEP cert situation.
I would suggest adding a second scale called "No Weight Scale" or "Each Scale" then configure the scale to not be "Live" and then have the scale master press "Ctrl+Q" to enter just a qty and not the Gross/tare/net.
