Ability To Store More Than One Auto ID Tag # For Each Vehicle

Many of the trucks that visit our various locations have 2,3 , or 4 different RFID tags in their windshields; some for various toll authorities, some are ours, and some are issued by our competitors. It has become impossible to guarantee that the "correct" tag (the one listed for the vehicle) is read at each station along the process.

For example, truck ABC123 has 3 tags; a Pikepass, a JWS tag, and an NTTA tag. When he checks in, the correct tag (Pikepass) is read. However, he proceeds to the EZ Load system where the JWS tag is read. Since that tag isn't in Apex, the operator has to manually change the Auto ID tag # for that truck so it can proceed to the loadout. By doing so, a new ticket is created and an incomplete ticket is orphaned.

We've made changes to our configuration based on CA recommendations but those changes only work with full automation. We have Scale Clerk Intervention set up at the scale for every location and cannot change that. What we would like to see is a reader reading all RFID tags and recognizing the vehicle under any of the tags listed for the truck.

Multiple tags also with void/delete status tracking would be beneficial.

Mark, we have a couple options here.

    1. Ignore bad tag reads (we can read a tag, ignore it if not in the system, read another and process)

    2. ID Assignments (assign by tag instead of by vehicle) https://users.commandalkon.com/Releases/Apex/Apex%20Current%20Help/ID_Assignment_Methods.htm

I think option 1 gives more flexibility and would be my recommendation. Since you are already working with Dan, I'd recommend speaking with him about this request.
