For companies with a distributed point of sale strategy, being able to manage security from a centralized app would be a huge help. However, the components that currently make up a user account are contained in tables and encrypted files. You cannot reset a user's password, disable a user, etc, without connecting remotely to the POS computer and logging into the POS. With that configuration, admin types have accounts in so many systems, each with a separate password. It is very difficult to maintain.

you get my vote on this. In general, security is a nightmare for us and the auditors. It needs some serious overhauling.
Also, many plants are a single computer operation, if someone from the security team remotes in during they day, they are likely interrupting ticketing.
