The IdTouch1.exe program is launched on the BTEK kiosks through a shortcut that references the exe on the Apex server/PC. This is a problem if there is even a little glitch in network connectivity between the Kiosk and the server. The screen errors out and all inputs are unsuccessful until the screen is reopened and a new connection to the server is made.
It would be very beneficial to have the executable be local on the Kiosk and it connects back to the server, which would allow for network loss recovery. The screen wouldn't need to be relaunched and the program would reconnect to the Apex database once network is restored.
Hey Logan,
Happy to report this will be covered as part of the SQL Connection Recovery work we're doing in v7. This should be available in v7.6 which is due out in July 2021.

Last I heard, any ATK work wont start for a few years as Connex is all their focus. I know they want to work on a Kiosk 2.0 and address things like customizing the screen more and addressing things like network connection. But Command should speak to any updates.
Any update on this one from the vendor?
ATK for clarity. Set up call between Kristy and Logan to see work around in place.
